Plagiarism Policy

Journal of Library and Information Science, Management, Technology, and Education (JOLIMATE)

JOLIMATE is committed to publishing original academic research. We have a zero-tolerance policy towards plagiarism, including self-plagiarism.

1. Definition:

Plagiarism involves the use of another's ideas, words, or work without proper attribution or permission. This includes, but is not limited to, the copying of text, images, data, or other material from a source and submitting it as one's own. Self-plagiarism involves the reuse of one's own previously published work without acknowledging the original source.

2. Detection:

All manuscripts submitted to JOLIMATE will be scrutinised for any signs of plagiarism. We utilise advanced plagiarism detection software to compare submissions against a vast database of academic and professional work. Any manuscript identified by this software as containing plagiarized content will be examined closely by our editorial team.

3. Consequences:

If a manuscript is found to contain plagiarised content, it will be immediately rejected. If the plagiarism is discovered after publication, the article will be retracted, and a notice of retraction will be published. In severe cases, the author(s) may be blacklisted, prohibiting them from submitting to JOLIMATE in the future. We may also notify the authors' institutions of the infraction.

4. Responsibilities of Authors:

Authors are responsible for ensuring that their manuscript is entirely original and that all sources are properly cited. Paraphrasing another's work and presenting it as one's own is also considered plagiarism, even if the source is cited. Authors must seek permission to use any copyrighted materials in their manuscripts.

5. Responsibilities of Reviewers and Editors:

Our reviewers and editors are also responsible for identifying instances of plagiarism. If a reviewer suspects plagiarism in a manuscript they are reviewing, they are obligated to report it to the journal editor.

We believe in the integrity of academic work and the importance of giving credit where credit is due. We encourage all authors to be diligent in their efforts to avoid plagiarism, helping us maintain the high standard of academic excellence for which JOLIMATE is known.
