Impact of Facilitating Strategies on the Learning Attitude of Adult Learners in Adult Classes in Jere Local Government Area Borno State Nigeria

ABSTRACT
The study assesses the impact of facilitating strategies on the learning attitude of adult learners in adult classes in Jere local government. The objectives and three research questions were answered for this study. The population of the study included all Adult Leaders and Instructors in the Jere literacy Centers totaling 348 individuals. The sample was selected using the Krejcie and Morgan 1970 sampling table resulting in 183 respondents. A researcher-designed questionnaire IFSLAALAC was used as the instrument for data collection employing a four-point Likert scale. The instrument was validated by experts in measurement and evaluation and the supervisor. Test-retest reliability was used to test the instruments reliability. Data collected was analyzed using descriptive statistics including frequency count percentage mean and standard deviation. Findings show that peer learning exercises are mostly used in facilitating strategies in adult literacy centers in Jere Local Government Borno state. Adult learners perceive the facilitating strategies used in the center as effectively supporting their comprehension and retention. Facilitating strategies positively impact adults attitudes in the literacy center. The study concludes that facilitating strategies particularly peer learning exercises are effective in supporting comprehension retention and positive attitudes among adult learners in Jere Local Governments literacy centers. Adult Learners Literacy Center should continue to prioritize and invest in facilitating strategies that promote interactive and participatory learning experiences. Additionally the Adult Literacy Center in Jere Local Government Borno State should conduct a thorough review and assessment of the instructional methods employed to enhance learner engagement and satisfaction.
